Description
Pixel Properties Limited is a concept that I created for our university group project last term. The brief was to make a trading game that was web-based, utilising web technologies and databases.
I wanted the game to have superb and immersive graphics, but we had to consider the time scale (4 weeks) and how much we could reasonably expect to achieve in that time. So, we stuck to a simple model of a 2-dimensional grid of buildings separated by roads. Estate agents can move along the pavements in any direction to get to a building and then perform actions.
Now I'm not claiming to be a die-hard pixel artist. Due to time constraints, I had to cut a few corners to get the buildings and objects done, so I have used transparency and maybe a few brushes here and there. Not all the tiles were completed to full detail, but they certainly rock harder than any equivalent 2D top-down tileset. My favourite building is the warehouse.
Edit: Must I add ninjas to everything I make? See if you can spot him (easy ).
A group of estate agents, fed up with their lousy commissions, decide to break away and form their own revolutionary business in real-estate, Pixel Properties Ltd. Unlike typical estate agents, they will buy their properties in order to gain higher profits. They have yet do decide on a leader for the company, so they agree that the agent with the highest profits will take control. The stakes are high, and so is the competition.
Players will take the role of estate agents and strategically buy and sell properties in the virtual world to gain more cash. Agents will be responsible for maintaining and improving their properties, which will allow them to sell for higher prices. Agents must travel around the city to perform all the required tasks.
